Thought to be on the site of an even earlier church, All Saints, a 'jewel' amongst Sussex's churches, was built during the 12th century, the first Rector being Bartholomew in 1195. It is nestled amongst ancient yews in its conservation-grade graveyard, on a high ridge, with stunning views. The interior, though much restored in the 1860s, is kept open daily, in beautiful condition, for the community, visitors and regular dedicated worshipers. We have a longstanding tradition for choral inclusion to our services, with disciplined choir, led by dedicated organists.
George is supported by the Revd Lucy Murdoch the Revd Simon Hobbs and the Parish Readers Mr Richard Maylam & Mr Tim Hough.

Heathfield Benefice
The word ‘Benefice' just means a group of parishes that have come together to form a single operating structure. Heathfield Benefice was formed in 2016, and in September 2017 Reverend Mitch joined us as our Vicar to lead the Benefice as we embark on this new phase of the life of the church.
Which Parishes make up Heathfield Benefice?
Heathfield Benefice is formed of two Parishes; the Parish of St Richards, which covers the vast majority of the town of Heathfield, and the Parish of All Saints' & St Georges which includes the villages of Old Heathfield, Broad Oak, Cade Street, Chapel Cross and a large part of Punnetts Town.
What are we like?
We are a church family that is made up of people from very different and varied church backgrounds. We try hard to make new people feel welcome, and to care for one another with love and kindness. We don't always get things right and we don't have all the answers, but we do try to be faithful Christians, living lives in our local community that reflect the teachings of Jesus.
We would love to welcome you!

St. Bartholomew's, or St. Bart's as it is known locally, was once called "The Church in the Woods", prior to the great storm of 1987, being almost completely hidden under the trees. It is a Chapel of Ease to All Saints, Waldron, having been built in 1863, to designs by James Piers St Aubyn to act as the parish church during the restoration and enlargement of All Saints. It is an archetypal Victorian Nave and Sanctuary building with a unique atmosphere. The church enjoys a longstanding choral and musical tradition.
George is ably assisted by a ministry team including the Revd. Canon Lucy Murdoch, the Revd Simon Hobbs and the Parish Readers.
